Why do I allow disorganization and inefficiency to command my day-to-day? Subconsciously, or perhaps consciously I believe that energy allocated to organization, follow-through, processes comes at the expense of good ideas. Putting in place a process is the equivalent of sticking your head in the sand — there is no time to let your thoughts wander, you will never look outside the process for new ideas again. On the other hand, perhaps putting a process in place, bringing organization to life, allows one to follow exploratory thoughts with greater and uninhibited time. Maybe, it allows you to follow intriguing ideas whenever they occur because you no longer work every day in the “important and urgent” quadrant. Maybe the answer is bringing diligence to the exploratory process.
